The best part of my job is…

The people I connect with and the personal transformations I get to witness.
Bringing like-minded women together on Retreats and seeing them connect with their true self, form authentic friendships and connections is the absolute highlight of my job!

I chose to enter this field of work because…

You know what? I never chose it – it chose me! I believe our purpose makes itself known to us when we’re busy living a life that is aligned with our authentic self.
When we get out of our own way, open ourselves up, and do what we love, our purpose finds us!

The greatest challenge in my career has been…

This miraculous journey is still relatively new and seeing it was never something that was created from logic, a business plan or strategy I have had no expectations, and therefore no great challenges.

In saying that, with the rapid growth I have experienced I would have to say that getting up to speed with technology and the online world can at times be challenging and overwhelming and being a one woman band also has it’s challenges. However, hiring a VA has helped a lot! I can feel more delegating will soon be needed “before” challenges appear!

The funniest misconceptions about my industry/company/brand are….

That my life is Zen and perfect every minute of everyday.

I wish I could say that I’m always calm and Zen-like at every minute of every day, but the reality is, I’m not – I haven’t yet mastered the unique qualities of His Holiness the Dalai Lama!

I lose balance at times, and just like most people, I have an increasingly fast-paced life, a business to run, bills to pay, daily tasks and responsibilities, children to raise and a house to clean – all of which can exhaust me now and then. I don’t believe there will ever come a day when I’ll say, okay, I’m done, I know it all now, I have everything worked out, I no longer need to grow and learn. If we knew everything today, what would be the point of tomorrow?
I am evolving and a work in progress just like everyone else!

The most influential person in my career has been…

In the most humble way I have to answer this question by saying, ME! There are certainly people who inspire and motivate me, but ultimately it is me that is responsible for doing the work and making things happen.

I think this is a big mistake people on the personal growth path make: They look for someone or something outside of themselves to provide them with all the answers or with a magic potion.

A mentor, life coach, nutritionist or personal trainer can all provide incredible amounts of motivation, enthusiasm, knowledge, education, guidance and support, and are all worth their weight in gold.

But they can’t do it for you. I was inspired by reading Dr Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay books. These people transformed me in many ways, and allowed my mind and heart to open to many different possibilities. However, I don’t rely on them to create my life. They’re not with me holding my hand every day, making decisions for me and fixing my problems – that’s my responsibility.

If I could give one piece of advice to my 18-year-old self, it would be….

Oh gosh, she would not have listened to any advice as she was stubborn, strong-willed and thought she knew everything.

The best thing for me to give her would be support, unconditional love, guidance, encouragement and a big hug where I would whisper these words in her ear: trust in the process of life honey because everything will be okay.

My greatest achievement has been…

My two sons! Becoming a mother transformed me. I immediately became much more at peace, and I immediately experienced a heartfelt love that I had never experienced before. Becoming a mother inspired me to become a better person. I have my children to thank for making me so much more than my former self.

And on a career level: My Wellness Retreats are a huge achievement – they drive me and inspire me as I see what a huge impact they have on the women who attend them!

The greatest personal challenge I have over come is…

Like everyone, we all have a story. I share My Story in my book, Living from the Inside Out, A Guide to Healing and Transforming Your Life from Within.
I was a young girl who grew up very quickly. I became independent from a very young age.

I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia and I worked on treating the symptoms for a number of years.

I was chained down by my pain, and exhausted. My muscles were knotted up, I had widespread pain and burning sensations throughout my entire body and everything was tense and stiff. My head ached and felt as though it was being held tightly in a vice. My mind and head were always foggy, which affected my cognitive function.

However, I kept getting on with life as if it were normal, as I learnt to live and accept this way of life. Nothing I did gave me permanent results, only temporary relief. On the exterior I didn’t look sick. Nothing appeared to be wrong, so no-one was really aware of my illness. I insisted on keeping it all together, battling on, but inside, every part of my body was hurting like crazy!

So, my biggest challenge was learning acceptance, forgiveness and focusing on the cause instead of the symptoms and when I done that, guess what? The symptoms disappeared.

I don’t understand why…

People waste their energy on comparing themselves with others. They are them. You are YOU!

I try to relax by…

Connecting with nature works miracles for me.

My biggest fear is…

Whenever I feel my ego (fear) taking over, I know that I have turned my back on my inner guidance (love) and chosen to have faith in the ego. I’m human though and sometimes my ego does roar and I fear settling for less than I deserve.

I can’t live without…

Obviously oxygen and of course love. The soul cannot live without love, just like a flower cannot live without sunshine.

I really wish I had…

Unlimited time, money and resources to make a bigger difference in the world.

The greatest lesson I have learnt is….

A woman who loves and cares for herself is NOT selfish.

If I had one super power, it would be….

Healing powers to help restore the emotions and spirits of others and to heal those with disease, pain and suffering.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…

Tony Robbins, Richard Branson, Oprah and Ellen.
