The best part of my job is…
Seeing women create tangible and lasting change within themselves and their lives. To witness a woman begin to own her worth, communicate more effectively, take charge of her emotions, learn to master her mind and negative thoughts, so she can begin to step into what truly makes her happy, is such an honour, and one I am grateful for each and every day.
I chose to enter this field of work because…
I think many of us enter this work because of how screwed up we are. Ultimately, I knew from 19 I wanted to be a life coach, and at 21, I was introduced to the world of internet marketing. So, put these elements together. My dream has always been to run a global business inspiring women.
My passion for living a better quality life started in my 20s. As a self-help seminar junkie, I devoured everything personal development. I thank God I was given a naturally optimistic mindset, and now a skill base that allows me to see the bigger picture of a woman’s identity, life, and purpose.
I now mentor women through the exact steps I walked. My own struggles with self-worth, and a deep desire to find my unique calling, led me on this journey. I only teach what has worked in my life. I am about results and strategies that when followed, work!
The greatest challenge in my career has been…
Communicating to women that inner work is the core of life change. You can be given all the tools, strategies, plans and checklists to create a successful life in every area. But, if you don’t have self-worth, if you don’t believe it’s possible for you, if you can’t manage your emotions and thoughts effectively, you’re setting yourself up for a tough road of resistance, fear, self-sabotage and emotional pain.
Speaking from my own experience, I truly believe we are unable to move forward effectively towards the life we desire, until we change what is not working within.
The funniest misconceptions about my industry/company/brand are….
That all you need to do is meditate daily, think positive thoughts, say affirmations, and you’ll attract to you all you desire, with ease. I love the movie The Secret, because your thoughts create your life. I completely agree (well, your belief system creates your life, but thoughts stem from this), but there is one missing element. It’s a very vital point – action.
Not a lot stems from ease. Yes, opportunity can feel like it is attracted to you with ease. Creativity can flow with ease, of course. That is the law of attraction at it’s finest! Yet, to meet this opportunity, or create the beautiful work, many times we must step up and push through what we believe is possible for ourselves. This journey (breaking down the paradigm of our limiting beliefs and negative thoughts) is not walked without a little pain, resistance, struggle and hustle. It’s not all the time, but in ebbs and flows.
When we go against the grain of who we have been programmed to be, to create who we desire to be, we will always bump up against these elements. You can live a life of ease all day, every day. Yet, I know that unless you are willing to step outside your comfort zone and lean into fear, it won’t be the dream life you envision inside.
The most influential person in my career has been…
Marie Forleo, and not because I have done B-School. I haven’t. But, when I began following her 10 years ago, when I was immersed in the internet marketing world, it was Marie’s business model that expanded my dream of creating a business from which I can work anywhere, anytime. Marie showed me what was possible as a female entrepreneur.
If I could give one piece of advice to my 18-year-old self, it would be…
Oh gosh. Just one! To follow her heart and value herself. It will be one year on at 19 that she knows what she wants to do, to inspire women globally, and yet it will be exactly 10 years before she follows the call. I would tell her to own herself more, to not be afraid to be who she is, and really, to not worry about what others think! Just enjoy life and live it exactly how she wants. Oh, and not to accept/spend those five credit cards all at once, which will land her in $25k worth of debt, which she will spend her 20s paying off (sorry, that was two!). But you know what, in all honesty, I would not tell her a thing. Because all the mistakes I made, and the lack of worth that landed me in terrible circumstances, have been the fuel which has formed my purpose and created my message.
My greatest achievement has been…
Taking the plunge and launching this business. I have been self-employed for almost 10 years, but never before had I created a business from the heart. Putting your truth out into the world is the best personal development course you can do! You soon have to learn how to get over the fear of rejection, and people opposing what you do. The rewards of making an impact in people’s lives far outweigh any obstacles. I have become so much more resilient and partially thank my business for forcing me to overcome the fear of what others think. I so believe everyone is unique, and there is no room for negativity or judgment on what another has to bring into this world.
The greatest personal challenge I have overcome is…
My lack of self-worth. I used to be completely driven by everyone’s opinions of me. Whether they liked or accepted me determined whether or not I felt good enough. I was never able to speak up or stand up for myself, out of fear of conflict, or how the other person would react. I was afraid of being honest and sharing how I felt.
As a result, I was walked over, back-stabbed, put in situations which compromised my own values and morals. All the while, just sitting back and being nice, so I could keep the peace with everyone.
This put me in many undesirable situations. Which is why I am so passionate about women learning how they can own their worth and value, and communicate this authentically with confidence. Women are so much more worthy than they think. They deserve to shine.
I don’t understand why…
We are still killing innocent civilians in war
I try to relax by…
Switching off from technology and being in nature
My biggest fear is…
Not being able to pull off the huge vision I have inside
I can’t live without…
My hubby
I really wish I had…
Endless money, time, influence and resources – to create the change I desire to see in society
The greatest lesson I have learnt is….
YOU are the only thing getting in the way of where you are and where you want to be
If I had one super power, it would be….
Mind reading
If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…
Richard Branson, Simon Sinek, Mother Teresa, my dad (because I would love to give him this experience)
