Now WHAT is an affirmation?

According to the web-based world of Wikipedia, an affirmation is “New thought or new age terminology referring primarily to the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment”

Hmmmm…YES, but I don’t think that does any justice to one of the most powerful tools I have ever come across when it comes to creating your most wonderful life.

A simple sentence of words that have meaning to you, strung together with the best intentions, said to yourself daily, can make magic.

A well-crafted affirmation has the capacity to change your entire life. We can re-wire our thought process in as little as 6 weeks, and this is an actual scientific fact. The power of these heart felt words can really change your world.

I roll with a few power packed old faithful’s, but I also change them up as I feel the “shift”. I say them as soon as I wake up, and before going to sleep at night. They help me rock an attitude of gratitude and keep my heart full, my mind light and my spirit colorful.

So how do you create one of these meaningful mantras?
STEP ONE – What do you NEED?

What do you want to bring into your life?

We always compose them in the present. “I AM”, “I HAVE”, “I FEEL”. No wishing and hoping here, we KNOW these words to be true so speak them as you wish them to be. They can be a simple as “I am happy”, “I am supported” or “ I am prosperous”

STEP TWO – Keep them POSITIVE.

You want them to be UPLIFTING. Instead of saying “I will be out of debt”, the words “I live a life of abundance” is far more beneficial and positively geared.

STEP THREE – Keep it REAL.

This is just for YOU. Choose words that sound organic to you.

“I am a saucy minx with tons of sass” could be your thing.

“ I am a motherflippin goddess, I rock this day” packs a punch.

“All is safe and well with my soul” is blissful.

All very different, but they are words for YOU. Don’t be afraid to fill them with passion.

“I am a creative genius, and the universe supports me in all I do”

STEP FOUR – Repeat it OFTEN

Write them out and keep them where you can see them.

– Next to your bed in a beautiful frame.

– On your desk at work

– Screensavers.

– In your kitchen to help you make choices that reflect your goals.

– In your wallet so you can have it with you always.

– Bathroom mirror to remind you, you are SPECTACULAR.

The possibilities are endless. Anywhere you feel will remind you of your mission.

STEP 5 – HAVE FUN.

This is just for YOU. Your TRUE. Your FORCE.

The goal of an affirmation’s is to evoke a feeling, support your purpose, to reinforce your epic-ness and direction on your life path. Stick with them for at least 6 weeks. Commit to carrying it with you in your heart and mind, and when in doubt REPEAT.

Live WILD.

Be BRAVE.

Live TRUE.
